HEY

I told you I'd comment sometime >:O

Didn't know what to expect at first from the intro. Great way of introducing the drums and the faster lead. Orgasmic bass sound. The kick, the snare, and the cymbals sound pretty decent. The hit hat sounds horrible though, you should try getting some non-Cubase samples.

I feel like the song is way too repetitive for a 6 minute track. Half of that would have been enough.

Still, pretty good.

Sonicist responds:

It's not a Cubase sample, it's from a sample pack. I shall remember to avoid that hat in the future =P

I love it.

I played Ace Combat Zero and immediately fell in love with it. Your voice fits AWACS nicely and you reminded me of Red vs. Blue at some point.

Honestly, I'd ask you to record some lines (not lyrics, just one-liners) for a song, but I don't have anything worthy at the moment.

Question. How'd you make your voice sound radio-ish? With an Equalizer?

Sentinel94 responds:

Special Filter effects. If you play around on FL or whatever you use, you're sure to find something like it.

Amazing.

Nominated you for the underdog list, you're truly a brilliant and underrated artist. Keep it up, loving your stuff.

Teck071 responds:

Thanks man :D

Orgasmic.

Beautiful. That's all I have to say.

Ahahaha.

"hey guyz, new mix and i didn't use midis!!11! instead, i used cheap eurotrance presets on fl, can i has top 5 of the week now???!!?

Pfft, what a joke. Y'know what enrages me these days? Seeing simple, cheesy songs on the top 5 of the week list when there are far better submissions out there.

Let's see. You compose the melody by ear (Good Lord, how hard can that be?), added a four to the floor beat, a pad in the background, a bass that closely resembles the original melody (even though the original song's bass has its own line and in a different key) and a very generic eurotrance lead. You make the 12 second loop and repeat it for /three goddamn minutes/. To hide the awfully repetitive nature of the song, you make "transitions" with downloaded effects every now and then. Next thing you know, it gets top 5 of the week! Had I known Newgrounds likes cheesy songs like this, I would start making some myself too. I thought only Zelda remixes and Paragon9X songs got popular. Damn, guess I was wrong.

"Man, this guy's jealous!" Jealous of what? Jealous of another generic song getting great scores when there are more deserving tracks out there? Not really, it's enraging and amusing at the same time. I am by no means a great artist and my songs certainly aren't top-5-of-the-week worthy, but this? This is ridiculous. Hell, I even emulated this silly effort myself! It's funny how much you can do in less than 2 hours, isn't it?

Good day. Copy of the review saved in case you get nasty with the delete button :D

SRT-M1tch responds:

Thanks for reviewing. I'll try harder next time.

Hmmm.

I think you used FL instruments here. Not sure. I recommend getting new sound packs, soundfonts, and VST's for FL. The "bass" you used is very annoying. I like the drum loop, I hope you made that from scratch. Otherwise, I see very little effort put into this.

What tempo did you use? DnB is usually around the 180's if I remember correctly.

Repetiveness kills.

You have distorted drums, a simple lead, and a couple of extra stuff in the background that do little to make this track stand out. The only variation you have is when you change the lead at around 2:05. You then decide to speed up the tempo without a reason and it just gets annoying. I don't see much effort put into this track to be honest :/

Keep practicing and good luck.

Thanks for reviewing one of my songs a week ago, I didn't have time to reply until now.

Viros responds:

I'll be completely honest:

When i first read this review i reacted in a very negative way - claiming that I didn't put much effort into it and all.

Then, i realize, you're absolutely right.

I didn't put enough effort. And that tempo thing?! WTH was i thinking?!

Thank you very much for the honest review, I really appreciate it!

I'll go back to the drawing - erm - mixing board on this one, and maybe i'll klll it altogether.

Thank you again, for your review.

Not bad.

Loving the drums, that's definitely my favorite "part", along with the atmospheric feeling. The "bass" coming in at around 0:48 is pretty nice and blends together nicely. The eurotrance sounds nice, but I don't think it really fits in there with all the other instruments, I feel like that instrument is too thick for the already thick bass, but maybe that's just me.

Overall, it's a good track. Lacking a bit of climax (the eurotrance saw didn't deliver enough I'm afraid), but other than that, I enjoyed listening to it. Keep it up.

Sorry for the late review and thanks for reviewing one of my songs a week ago.

Pretty nice,

Nice panning and use of drums, first thing that caught my attention. Pretty nice tribal sound samples you got there, love them. Really does fit the title and description. Not much I can say really :D

Keep it up.

S3C responds:

Thanks Johnny =D

Nice working with you :D

About time we did something together ;P

Sounds really nice man, great drums and guitar on your side. I just hope we actually finish it haha.

S3C responds:
