Good voice.

Wanna collab sometime? My stuff's alright, nothing special, but I could find use for your voice somewhere.

seatellite responds:

sure, just send me an mp3 or message me and I'll see what I can do.

Bananas in pijamas!

This sounds like the kind of song that would be played at a wedding or something. It's really happy.

I can't write a long-ass review like the other people, but I will tell one one thing. Lower the volumes or start compressing/limiting stuff, this sounds too loud in some parts IMO.

It's beautiful though. Love the melodies, appropriate drum beat, and good strings.

Keep it up.

Step responds:

Thank you :3.

I'm definitely going to lower the volumes. Or probably keep it as it is and EQ everything to infinity.

Yeah I get that 'really happy' thing a lot when I compose a song in a major. When I make one in a minor, it's all emo and sad, and in a major, it's impossibly happy.

Glad you liked the strings; definitely my best work with strings yet. Anyway, thanks for the great review, and don't worry if it's not a long-ass review, it's definitely longer than 95% of the reviews here on NG anyway :D. Thanks again!

Good shit but..

Stop smoking weed <3

Gian responds:

NO

:P

It's.....happy.

Well....this ain't House for starters. It's like...some cheesy techno that suits Penny Racers (cute N64 racing game). That's not really a bad thing, mind you.

Get new claps and hi-hats, I could be wrong but you're using the default FL ones.

The melody is like....adorable. No, really, it's cute beyond belief. I love the synths you used for it and I like the bell-like sound along with piano.

Gosh, it's so pretty and contagious. The beat just needs more... oomph! Yeah?

The "rain" at the beginning sounds super low-quality, try finding better samples online, they're everywhere :)

Overall, good song. Keep it up. Thanks for reviewing my song without actually asking me to review back, I like that.

leedon responds:

Thanks man! Good review!
I really didn't know what genre to put it in :P
Yeah they are default. In fact, all sounds are default, just with some tweaks. In fact, that 'rain' effect is just a bunch of claps :P applause slowed down and duplicated in different patterns and context. In fact, I really don't know how to really use FL Studio. In fact, I only have the demo version. In fact, I only work on these for a few hours then upload them, and delete the file since it's the demo version.

Thank you! I have a habit of making these 'happy' melodies. Just check out my other crap.

I have no idea.

My main problem with the track is how short it is D:

That aside, it's a great track! Sounds like an opening sequence for a show or something. Really good, loving the voice samples. Where are those from?

SatoDraygonFist2 responds:

All my songs are short, babe. We know this. And they're clips from Crash. Thanks for listening. :3

Wonderful :)

I love this remix. Haven't checked out the original mix yet but this is really nice. Gorgeous melody and really uplifting sound when it reaches the higher notes. I love the pace too.

I love that particularly simple transition at 0:27 too.

Would love to play a game with a track like this in it.

Keep it up ;D

KgZ responds:

Wow, thank you man =)

Great song but...

Climax please? It seemed like it was building up to something but it never did. I was disappointed by that.

And as someone else mentioned, the drums need to come forth a little more, but you're working on that already.

Keep it up.

aliaspharow responds:

Well sorry theres no ambient/trance section! you guys just dont know how to enjoy a great song

Well let's see....

Since I know what the midi for this song looks like, I can safely say you just got the original midi and just replace the channels with your preset synths. i tried doing a remix of this song myself once but I ditched the project. Feel free to correct me of course.

Now, actual crit. I don't see what you've done to make the original song better. Add drums, spice things up y'know? The overall mastering is too flat too. Boost that bass a couple notches, boost your middle frequencies, add more synths if it helps. What program you using?

I checked out your profile. You're young and all you're doing are "remixes". That's cool, I started out that way too. My first remix was a Zelda one, it was nothing special but I got better with crit. Take this crit and learn from it. You'll get better with practice. Most importantly, take your time with stuff and give it your best.

Good luck. Check out my stuff sometime, preferably a song called A New Lifev2 :)

jmerk800 responds:

Constructive criticism accepted. your bull crap not accepted. first out of 30 songs only 6 are remixes, can you count? thats not a whole lot. Second, I started from a midi as a guide this isnt all a midi and this is the only song Ive done that with. third, I hear this everyday dont act like your telling me life changing advice, and fourth why would I check out your stuff after the amount of respect shown from you. which is almost none.

Pretty bitchin'.

I love the simple riffs. They're pretty meaty and effective.

I can't really give you any crit other than the fact that the song is too short and it would need vocals to shine on its own since there's no melody carrying the song.

I like the synths you used here. It reminded me of Mission Impossible for some reason, despite being entirely different.

If you could make this longer and add some vocals, it's be REALLY good.

Keep it up. Got a question for you though. Why in the world would you need 14 layers of guitar?

SantaBro responds:

Can't sing, don't know anyone who can, so that sucks :) I think there is indeed a melody there- the riff. I think that'll be the most recognizable part of the song, even if I put something melodic in there. I can make it longer though.

As for the layers of guitar... It's to get a huge tone basically. Same reason you use a choir or an ensemble. I like to record the main riff 4-8 times, pan each layer a bit differently, send them through different guitar amplifiers and stuff. This time I went with 8. Creates a nice thick and punchy sound but it's hard work. Then I went a bit overboard and added an additional four layers of the same riff one octave above. And then in the last half of the song I added two more layers for the "solo" kinda part.

Thanks much for the review.

Could be wrong but...

This ain't dance :P If I had to guess, I'd say it's House, but I could be wrong.

I wish I had a pair of good headphones to listen to this since it sounds like the mastering job on this is excellent. Everything sounds very crisp and clear. I won't complain how short it is because it's just a demo, but it does sound very promising. I'm loving the automations.

I don't really think there's much to criticize here. Nothing bad stands out to me. Keep it up!
